The Personnel Scheduler position is a dynamic, fast paced role. This position has interactions with employees across all levels of the organization. The primary responsibility of the Personnel Scheduler is to synthesize the production personnel assignments for the manufacturing teams/departments. The ideal candidate would have strong attention to detail as well as solid time management abilities that allows him/her to effectively prioritize and complete multiple tasks throughout the day.

YOUR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE.

  • High School or GED required; Associates degree preferred or six months to one-year related experience in manufacturing or an office administrative role.

Responsibilities
  • Each day works with the Production Scheduler and Production Supervisors to determine the amount of staffing required for the next day’s production, ensuring all employees have a “value added” assignment.
  • Coordination of personnel assignments when production and personnel changes happen throughout the shift. Reassignment of personnel movements based on production demands and personnel needs.
  • As lines go down, facilitate the early departure of employees according to the guidelines set forth in the employee handbook.
  • Coordinate shift exchange with oncoming personnel schedulers and plant leadership to communicate staffing changes.
  • Maintain Skills Matrix for training needed to ensure employee skills are up to date. Using the Matrix to ensure employees are not working in the same position/rotation to support employee safety and ergonomics.
  • Take calls from employees to inform them of their scheduling status and answer questions and concerns.
  • Ensures accounting accuracy by tracking and adjusting employee’s clocking into the correct cost center
  • Time System Reporting
  • Monitors employee attendance and provides the appropriate supervisor with attendance statistics.
  • Keep detailed records for any absence, FMLA, Early Departure.
  • Collaborating with Supervisors, Manufacturing Training Specialists, and CDT’s in supporting the training needs of plant employees to increase flexibility in scheduling and employee qualifications.
  • Communicate with other shift schedulers to coordinate transferring of employees.
  • Coordinate general communications about daily events from shift to shift (i.e., lines starting up or going down, the need of more staffing due to a special order, extra-work activities, absences that affect the following shift).
  • Monitor the employee entrance door/security system. Accept incoming deliveries of supplies, visitors, or employees here on their off shift.
  • Coordinating and organizing special events.
  • All other duties assigned by the Supervisor
