Petrographer - Brisbane About the Position We are seeking motivated and suitably experienced professionals to join our Queensland Coal Technology Services team at our Richlands site in Brisbane. Position Overview • Employment Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday) • Training Period: Initial 3-month training on day shift. • Flexibility of day and afternoon shifts: Day/ Afternoon 2:00pm – 10:00pm Reporting to the Petrography Supervisor, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: • Preparing coal samples for petrographic analyses in accordance with Australian Standards. • Performing routine coal petrographic analysis and general microscopy work. • Ensuring project deadlines are met and customer satisfaction is maintained. • Maintain up to date knowledge of all relevant procedures and methods. • Adhering to all Local Safety Rules and Site Safety Rules and ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance to ensure a safe working environment. Key Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess the following: • A Degree in Science or an equivalent qualification. • Microscope experience would be considered an advantage. • Prior experience in coal or coal petrology is desirable. • A proactive and positive work attitude with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities. • A strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality outcomes. • Ability to work in a team environment and independently. • Proficient in the in Microsoft Office 365 Suite • Full time availability required • Current driver's license What We Offer • A dynamic and supportive work environment with opportunities for growth and professional development. • Comprehensive on the job training to equip you with the necessary skills. • Monthly BBQ for site meetings • A culture that values safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
