JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Petroleum Technologist supports the exploration, drilling, and production of oil and gas by applying technical expertise to optimize operations and improve efficiency. They work closely with engineers and geoscientists to collect, analyze, and interpret field data, monitor production performance, and assist in the implementation of new technologies or processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or degree in Petroleum Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with oilfield equipment and production processes
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in participating in technical reviews & able to provide technical assurance on technical works /analysis.
  • Capable of preparing Standards and Guidelines for the Company
  • Experience in provision of Training on subject matters
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree of any relevant disciplines from recognized universities.
  • At least 15 years of experience, including technical assignments and currently working at Principal level or higher.
  • Expert in modelling tools such as GAP, PROSPER, MBAL, WinGLUE and OFM.
  • Proficient and experienced in delivering production technology and petroleum engineering input, studies, solutions, and technical support within but not limited to artificial lifting, production enhancement, well stimulation, reservoir surveillance and management, flow assurance, well completion, and well integrity domains.
  • Experience of and familiarity with all aspects of the petroleum production system, including reservoir characterization, field development planning and execution, well drilling, workover, servicing/intervention/ integrity, testing, and completion, production surveillance, operations, processes, facilities, flow assurance, and production chemistry.
  • Excellent understanding of flow dynamics, near wellbore damage behaviours and flow assurance in relations to any FDP/FFR development project
  • Experience in conducting technology screening and ability to challenge existing design and well operational processes in order to apply best technologies and practices / minimize operating costs
  • Experience in CCUS.
