You'll prepare, package, and merchandise fresh cheese on a daily basis while maintaining all food safety and sanitation standards. We are looking for: - a high school diploma or equivalent - 1+ years of experience in cheese sales - communication and interpersonal skills What is the work? Customer Service / Sales: - Provides superior customer service - Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person - Answers customer questions regarding products; assists them with selections - Uses suggestive selling techniques and advanced product knowledge to meet customer needs and build sales - Works with Deli Manager to develop sales goals and track against them Food Service: - Prepares, packages, merchandises fresh product effectively - Slices, makes specialty cuts, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality - Assists in technical areas as needed (e.g., basic set-up and clean-up processes) Food Safety: - Cleans and sanitizes display cases - Operates / maintains equipment properly - Complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards, and department / Store operating procedures What is your background? - Minimum age 18 (mandatory) - High school diploma, or equivalent - 6+ months of experience in cheese sales - Completion of Company Orientation, and food safety and sanitation training upon hire Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Cheese Shop Specialist? - Advanced knowledge of top cheese families and selections, and the cheese-making process - Knowledge of computer systems and equipment (e.g., PC, symbol, scales, label machine) - Strong customer service skills - Communication and interpersonal skills - Reading and writing skills - Planning and organizing skills Can you... - Function in a fast-paced, retail environment, in detailed and precise tasks - Work with Customers, staying attentive to their needs 08-2021
