As an automotive supplier, DENSO is leading in developing and providing components and systems for heating, air conditioning, motor cooling, exhaust gas aftertreatment, automotive electrics and electronics and instrumentation.
Job Description
The focus of this position is on distributed AI for mobility use cases, such as object detection or movement prediction. Distributed AI means that data is held locally, which leads to privacy aware AI. Recent progress in federated learning has shown that distributed AI can be highly competitive and furthermore enables local customization or personalization.
The main goal of this research position is to design, apply and validate distributed AI algorithms on vehicle data and contribute to leading-edge research.

The main objectives are:

  • Conduct research that is related to vehicle data analysis using latest distributed AI technology
  • Contribute to the project with demonstrators and evaluation in collaboration with the project partners
  • Discuss results with DENSO-internal R&D teams to collect feedback and help applying project results in product development and related research

This Ph.D. position is limited in time and supports the enrollment in the doctoral program of the Technical University of Munich. When applying for this position please submit your university transcripts together with your CV.
Qualifications

We are looking for a driven person with the desire to do high-quality research.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in one of the following fields: computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, electrical engineering, mathematics, statistics, data science or physics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent programming skills and solid mathematical background
  • Experience in AI including neuronal networks and other techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Participate in academic conferences and publish research results in peer-reviewed conferences and journals
