The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Phantom Works Lead Technology Integrator - Project Engineer (Level 5 or 6) to join the Phantom Works team in Berkeley, MO.
This Engineering Multi-skilled Leadership (EMSL) position will act as the Lead Technical Integrator for Phantom Works and support Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Technology Strategy & Phantom Works (PW) senior leadership in the planning and execution of the BDS Technology Planning and Execution processes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in R&D programs.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, change management, project management, influencing without authority, consultation
  • Experience with coaching, facilitation, teaching, mentoring, promotion, communication, and documentation of success stories
  • Ability to communicate concisely in writing, verbally, one-on-one, in small groups, and to large audiences.
  • Experience in the engineering functional domain but have interfaced with at least one of the following: finance, integrated scheduling, business development, program management, or supplier management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Top-Secret Clearance
  • Familiarity with IR&D Planner, Access, SPOT, SQL

Responsibilities
  • Working closely with the Phantom Works strategy team leaders, identifying technology capability gaps and solution concepts which support market strategies
  • Identifying potential funding sources necessary to address technology needs
  • Facilitating the development of technology roadmaps within PW
  • Support the coordination of BDS technology needs to be fulfilled under Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) funding, AvionX Funding and HRL funding (Hughes Research Laboratories)
  • Coordinating technology needs and facilitating transition of BR&T, AvionX and HRL solutions to PW programs.
  • Supporting and facilitating the BDS Technology investment planning and execution process
  • Maintaining knowledge of the BDS investment portfolio, to support development of briefings and other activities
  • Participate in the development of and execution of technology plans, including portfolio performance.
  • Support SBIRs and DoD Technical Exchanges
  • Works under minimal direction
  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans
  • Provides the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers
  • Develops statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements
  • Works with customers and management to obtain approval. Responds to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules
  • Leads project execution to complete the work statement
  • Identifies performance metrics
  • Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program
  • Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity
  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.
