POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, Pharmacy Services, the temporary full time pharmacist (18 month contract) will provide clinical coverage to mental health (inpatient and outpatient), neonatal ICU and pediatrics. Other clinical areas and central drug distribution will be covered as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree.
  • Licensed (Part A) Pharmacist in the Province of Ontario
  • Experience in a computerized inpatient hospital pharmacy environment preferred
  • Excellent communication, analytical and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and as a team member in a fast-pace, challenging environment.
  • Self-motivated and keeps current with the latest in drug therapy with continuing education
  • Good computer and keyboarding skills utilizing PC applications for reports and special assignments
  • Able to participate in shift and weekend schedule as per rotation
  • Practices in accordance with relevant legislation, CSHP standards and other relevant practice documents, professional code of ethics and department and hospital policies
  • Assumes personal responsibility for continual upgrading of medication and therapeutic knowledge through varied means (including ongoing literature review within pharmacy scope and other key medical journals to remain up-to-date on clinical pharmacy practices).
