UPMC Poison Center is seeking a Full-Time Pharmacist to join our expert team of toxicology professionals! This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in providing life-saving consultation and pharmacologic recommendations to patients, healthcare providers, and hospitals across the region. Schedule: Rotating Schedule (7 am to 12pm) 2 weekends per every 8-week increment Purpose: Support optimal patient outcomes through toxicology expertise, cost-effective pharmacotherapy, and collaborative consultation. Provide experiential education for current and future healthcare professionals and contribute to drug-related research and public health initiatives. Responsibilities: Provide toxicology consultation and clinical recommendations to patients, healthcare providers, and hospitals, including emergency departments and inpatient units. Assess and manage exposures to pharmaceuticals, chemicals, environmental toxins, and venomous bites/stings in collaboration with Poison Center staff and medical toxicologists. Review and evaluate patient medication profiles for potential toxic interactions, contraindications, and duplications, especially in cases of overdose or poisoning. Identify, document, and report suspected adverse drug reactions and toxic exposures in a timely and accurate manner. Assist in the supervision and training of pharmacy technicians, interns, and other support personnel involved in Poison Center operations. Provide drug and toxicology information to healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers, and participate in educational outreach and training programs. Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree Current licensure as a pharmacist in practicing state Prior Pharmacist experience preferred.
