Description 2nd Shift- 2:00 pm - 11:00 pm. SCA Pharma is an FDA 503B outsourcing facility providing customized medications for hospitals and healthcare facilities across the United States. Summary: Pharmacists are responsible for oversight of daily compounding activities in the cleanroom with direct oversight of compounding technicians. This position involves working with the quality unit on pharmacy events and is responsible for some supervisory and administrative tasks. Essential functions: Supervises compounding, labeling, and daily operations in the pharmacy Completes accurate logs of controlled substances and compounding records Performs both pre-and-post compounding operational checks Accepts and incorporates new ideas and protocols in the workflow, including process improvements and corrective actions Responsible for deviation investigations and batch review prior to product release Assists in the completion of variances and gathering of information Supervises and assists the technician in preparing sterile admixtures Communication of issues to the Pharmacy lead Ensures compounding is performed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and batch record directions Maintains pharmacy finished products inventory on a real-time basis Enforces applicable personnel policies and procedures Requirements Required Qualifications & Experience: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Active Pharmacist License in home state (AR and CT) 2 years of experience in sterile compounding preferred 2+ years of experience managing/working with technicians Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to supervise compounding in the clean room environment. Excellent attention to detail Ability to learn gowning procedures and wear sterile Personal Protective Equipment. The Pharmacist is often completely gowned up in an aseptic clean room extended periods of time Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 40+ pounds.
