FULL TIME PHARMACIST REQUIRED, KILLARNEY, CO. KERRY.

The candidate will facilitate additional cover during daytime hours at the pharmacy and will work as part of a dynamic, friendly and experienced team.
Since 1953, we are located on 34 Main Street in Ireland’s leading tourist town Killarney, County Kerry. Working as a part of our experienced team the Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medicines to customers/patients.

The main duties of this roles include:

  • To operate the dispensary in accordance with all the legal responsibilities pertaining to the profession of pharmacy.
  • To exercise all aspects of law, ethics and codes of practice as set out by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).
  • To interact with other health professionals & work as part of the pharmacy team (dispensary, retail & online).
  • To ensure the safe and effective delivery of medicines to all customers/patients.
  • To support the Superintendent Pharmacist & Pharmacy Owner in following up of rejected claims.
  • Any other projects and duties where they arise.

The successful candidate will:

  • Excellent communication skills and capable of working on own initiative.
  • Have great business acumen & be customer/patient focused.
  • Be highly organised & able to work under pressure & as part of a team.
  • A proven track record within a busy community pharmacy setting.
  • Have an understanding of effective budget & stock management.
  • Flexibility with working arrangements, the role may involve weekend work at times.

Essential Criteria

Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Must hold a PSI-approved Pharmacy Qualification and be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
  • Ability to deal with high volume dispensing
