Primary Duties and Responsibilities Provides pharmaceutical services to the hospital’s inpatients and outpatients. Compounds and dispenses pharmaceutical preparations and acts as a source of drug information to all members of the health care team. Accurately reviews and accurately interprets physician orders. Enters medication orders into the computer. Monitors for stat medications. Checks for accuracy of tasks performed by others. Always able to prepare complex pharmaceutical admixtures. Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. In addition, provides coverage for Hoag Hospital Irvine (HHI) and Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI) during the time when HHI Pharmacy is ever closed. Capable of compounding and dispensing pharmaceutical preparations based on “per pharmacist” orders from physician.
