Description

We are looking for a pharmacist who is highly motivated, professional and patient-centered who enjoys working in a team environment. Do you wish to provide exceptional patient care? The successful candidate must be a licensed pharmacist in good standing with OCP and be available to work alongside other pharmacists, registered technicians and pharmacy assistants in a busy but positive, highly patient-centered team environment.

Qualifications: Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, Part A

  • Experience with Kroll dispensing software 1-2 years.
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize workload
  • Exceptional customer service skill

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Must be available to work 8-12 hour shifts on weekdays
  • Must be available to work some weekends, rotating shifts with other pharmacists - usually 1 in 3-4 weekend

About Total Health Pharmacy, Newmarket Total Health Pharmacy & Home Health Care is an established pharmacy that has served the Newmarket Community for 30+ years. We provide blister packs and strip packs to community members and residents of retirement and congregated living homes (like group homes) using automated machines (PacMed & SynMed). We have a multidisciplinary medical clinic on site. We offer telemedicine services for pain management on-site. We are a licensed vendor of the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) for mobility and respiratory devices, and have a full Medical Supply and Home Health Care delivery service.

Responsibilities
  • Checking Prescriptions for accuracy,
  • OTC counselling,
  • Minor Ailments Prescribing
  • Health management consulting,
  • Checking Compliance Packages
  • Participating in Meds Checks
  • Collaboration with pharmacy technicians, assistants & with physicians on site to accurately dispense prescription medications
  • Extending Chronic Medication Prescriptions for patients that do not have refills and qualify under OCP for extension under the pharmacist
  • Verify prescriptions to be dispensed contain the correct medications and are correctly labelled, according to corporate and regulatory guidelines
  • Provide patient counselling on new prescriptions and handle patient clinical queries

Pay: From $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
