Join the UPMC Somerset team as a Full-Time Pharmacist and play a vital role in delivering safe, effective, and cost-conscious medication therapy. In this dynamic position, you’ll support both centralized and decentralized medication-use systems, ensuring optimal outcomes for patients across all care settings. You’ll collaborate with healthcare teams, provide education, and contribute to quality initiatives that improve pharmacy practice and patient safety. This role offers varying shifts, including days, nights, and rotating weekends and holidays, giving you the flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a difference. Responsibilities Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare and dispense medications in compliance with state and federal regulations. Review patient medication profiles for allergies, interactions, and therapeutic duplications. Prepare and dispense intravenous admixtures using aseptic techniques. Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify orders and provide drug information. Identify and report adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately. Sustain formulary compliance through therapeutic interchange and rational drug selection. Organize daily operational duties and assist in supervising pharmacy technicians and interns. Utilize available technologies to support safe and efficient pharmaceutical care. Provide education to healthcare professionals and serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students. Adhere to all regulatory requirements and hospital quality management policies. Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree Current licensure as a Pharmacist in practicing state inpatient pharmacist experience preferred.
