PHARMACIST POSITION SUMMARY The Pharmacist is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice in the provision of  pharmaceutical services within the institution.   PHARMACIST MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Must hold a valid Pharmacist license in the state of Mississippi.  * Must be a supportive team member who contributes to and demonstrates teamwork and team concept.  * Able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.  * Able to deal tactfully with personnel, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.  * Possess leadership and supervisory ability and be able to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.  * Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace  PHARMACIST ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  * Maintain all pharmacy records as required by Federal/State law and department policy.  * Respond to emergencies and critical incidents at the institution.  * Dispense all pharmaceuticals.  * Recognize and report possible synergistic, antagonistic, or cumulative effects of drugs.  * Provide consultation to staff regarding pharmaceuticals.  * Check expiration date of pharmaceuticals and return/dispose of outdated pharmaceuticals and non-returnable goods.  * Responsible for purchasing and inventory levels of all pharmaceuticals including over-the-counter medications.  * Orient, instruct, and supervise all pharmacy personnel.  * Maintain monthly statistical information and reports as directed by administration.  * Perform quarterly inspection of aspects of pharmaceutical services and assist in problem-solving activities.  * Attend training and meetings as required.  * Other duties as assigned.  VitalCore Health Strategies is an equal opportunity employer and committed to creating and maintaining an inclusive workplace in which all employees have an opportunity to participate and contribute to the success of the business and are valued for their skills, experience, and unique perspectives.
