Job Details Job Location: Welvista Headquarters - Columbia, SC Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: Undisclosed Description Receive prescription orders from prescribers (escribes, faxes, or verbal orders). Conduct drug utilization reviews (DUR) of all drug orders and coordinate therapeutic drug interchange with prescribers, if necessary. Responsible for pre-verification of new prescriptions and final quality assurance check of all prescriptions; may need to also assist in any other aspects of pharmacy workflow as needed to ensure efficient and effective completion of daily work. Check voicemail daily and return any calls in a timely fashion. Verify patient information is correct (address, phone number, allergies, ect.) Ensure required package inserts are included with patient medications. Provide patient counseling during normal business hours. Performs all duties and functions in compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations. Ensure all staff follow correct procedures, are courteous and cooperative with coworkers, peers, and outside contacts. Ensure that a positive work environment exists at all times, and that all staff work together effectively and efficiently. Serve as a resource for pharmacy staff and help troubleshoot problems that arise on a day-to-day basis. Pharmacists are responsible to ensure all work is completed each day. All problems, issues and troubleshooting must be resolved before leaving the pharmacy for the day. Keep the prescription area clean and free of all material not pertinent to the dispensing of prescriptions. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Pharm D or bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. Active State of South Carolina Pharmacy License in good standing. Self-motivated with the ability to complete work with a minimum of supervision under tight time frames. Organized, and able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and pharmacy-related software. Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with other health care professionals and the general public. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Effective supervisory skills.
