JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy operations by assisting pharmacists in various tasks, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and maintaining an organized pharmacy environment. This position is essential for facilitating medication administration and providing excellent service to our patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant (1-2 years) or in a similar role is preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Pharmacy Assistant Certification
• Experience:
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare setting, or customer service environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication names is a plus.
• Experience with medication dispensing and pharmacy operations.

SKILLS:

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
• Provide exceptional patient care by addressing inquiries and offering guidance on medication usage.
• Maintain inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring proper storage and organization.
• Process prescription orders, including verifying patient information and medication details.
• Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare professionals.
• Support medication administration processes within the hospital setting as needed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and best practices in pharmacy operations.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records.
• Prepare prescription labels, ensure proper packaging, and verify the accuracy of medication orders.
• Manage inventory, including stocking shelves, ordering medications, and ensuring proper storage of pharmaceutical products.
• Assist in the management of prescription refills and ensure patient profiles are up to date.
• Provide customer service by answering patient questions, both in person and over the phone.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, and maintaining patient records.
• Ensure that the pharmacy area is clean, organized, and compliant with all safety and regulatory standards.
• Process insurance claims and verify patient information.
• Help with the preparation of medication blister packs and dosage forms for patients.
• Adhere to all pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
