The Pharmacy Assistant functions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and performs all of the essential generic job functions as listed below. Responsibilities A day in the life of a Pharmacy Assistant at Hackensack Meridian Health includes: Assists the pharmacist in replenishing floor stock. Assists the pharmacist in delivering medications to patient care areas. Assists the pharmacist with the receipt and stocking of medication deliveries. Delivers medication carts to patient care areas. Assists the pharmacist in the maintenance of adequate drug supplies in filling stations and notifies appropriate departmental personnel regarding needed supplies. Assures that filling stations are maintained in a neat and orderly manner. Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies. Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Previous hospital experience. Licenses and Certifications Required: Pharmacy Technician License.
