Job description

We are looking for a part-time and/or full-time pharmacy assistant to work in a small but tightly knit pharmacy team in the friendly village of Carp! Shifts vary between 9 to 4pm and 10am to 6pm on Monday to Fridays and the occasional Saturday (9am to 4pm)..The pharmacy is closed on Sunday and Statutory Holidays. Previous experience in Community Pharmacy practice is valued but training will be offered to candidates who are new to this role.

Responsibilities of Pharmacy Assistant include:

  • Greeting patients, accepting and processing prescription orders.
  • Accurately filling and completing prescription orders.
  • Answering phone calls, processing phone orders and directing patients to appropriate pharmacy team members when needed.
  • Light cleaning duties (sweeping, tidying, dusting of pharmacy floors and shelves).
  • Helping manage pharmacy inventory (rotating stock, culling shelves for expired drugs. sending/receiving inventory orders and putting them away).
  • Cashing out prescriptions and other store items at the point of sale.
  • Preparing blister packs.


We are looking for someone who:

  • Is friendly, energetic and has strong commitment to customer service.
  • Has attention to detail and can work in a self-directed manner.
  • Is capable of working in a fast-paced environment and can multi-task.
  • Has computer proficiency in Excel; experience with a pharmacy dispensary software platform such as Kroll is an asset.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team.
