We are looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to looking to expand their repertoire outside of retail pharmacy. The client here in Edmonton is a specialty pharmacy. This particular pharmacy is a specialty pharmacy and deals with a larger basket of drugs uncommon to retail pharmacy such as Biologic and specialty medication, so we require someone who is quick to learn and as well as someone who has strong communication skills.

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm 40-hrs/week
  • Salary: $48,000 to $50,000/year

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Pharmacist, and Registered Pharmacy Technicians in dispensing of prescriptions, including preparation and labelling in an efficient, accurate and timely fashion
  • Regularly using the pharmacy’s computer system to fulfill orders and other tasks
  • Comply with Federal and Provincial regulations governing the practice of Pharmacy and with all Occupational Health & Safety requirements

Qualities we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience (Kroll experience preferred)
  • Average typing speed of 40wpm
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle a large volume of prescriptions
