Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant
Job Type: Full-Time Contract
Start Date: October 14th to January 2nd + potential extensions.
System: Kroll
Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm 40-hrs/week
Our client in Halifax is a specialty pharmacy is looking to hire a pharmacy assistant to work with their team. Here you would be interacting and handling a new side of pharmaceutical drugs, uncommon to a retail pharmacy. This is the perfect role for someone who is excited to learn more about the pharmaceutical industry.
As this is a busy location, you will be working exclusively with the Kroll system at high proficiency. On a normal day to day, you would be performing about 300 Rx/day, and you would need to be able to lift 50lbs to help restock when required.
Your primary duties will be assisting the pharmacist with final product labeling, packing, shipping (knowledge of couriers is an asset), preparing medication for checking, as well as speaking with the patients over the phone, so strong communications skills are important.
You will be trained on-site on how to deal with these particular drugs and your particular duties within the pharmacy. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 1 year experience as a pharmacy assistant.
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Duration: 3-month contract, possible contract extensions

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers and healthcare providers
  • Speaking with patients over the phone for confirmation of delivery
  • Lift up to 50 lb boxes
  • Checking prescriptions for proper dosage
  • Maintaining medical profiles
  • Coordinating clinical investigations
  • Evaluating all labeling, packaging and advertising of drugs

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Proficient skills with Kroll
  • Individual must be highly motivated, personable, knowledgeable, and possess Excellent Communication Skills
  • Excellent Organizational Skills
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
