This role is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $5,000 with a two-year work commitment to UPMC! $3,000 would be paid at the start of your journey with an additional $2,000 as you move up through our career ladder. Responsibilities: General Responsibilities Communicate with hospital personnel, patients, and visitors; refer drug info to Staff Pharmacists. Finalize sales; follow cash handling policies. Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked work environment. Ensure safe storage of medications per regulations. Keep documentation (eye wash logs, refrigerator logs, inventory logs, etc.). Comply with laws (HIPAA, OSHA) and PBM requirements (FWA, CMS). Practice hand hygiene. Use computer skills for patient records. Distribution & Filling Distribute medications (cassettes, emergency carts, controlled substances). Return discontinued medications to the pharmacy. Maintain positive service relationships during distribution. Prepare oral medications correctly and timely. Fill medication orders with proper labeling, counting, and stocking; initial and date products. Completion of high school diploma or equivalent required. Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Assistant will communicate with hospital personnel and patients, maintain a clean work environment, and ensure safe medication storage. They will also distribute medications and prepare oral medications accurately and timely.
