We are an independent specialty pharmacy with a strong community presence and a team that is passionate about providing outstanding patient care. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Compounding Assistant to join the compounding team at our 74 Gervais Drive location in midtown Toronto on a part-time basis with opportunity to transition to full-time.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Post secondary education in pharmacy, chemistry or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in pharmacy compounding.
• Knowledge of different dosage forms (i.e., solid oral including capsules, tablets, oral liquids, topical, transdermal, etc.)
• Familiarity with GLPs, GDP, and SOPs and gowning procedures.
• Ability to perform simple pharmaceutical calculations for individualized prescriptions
• Ability to lift 10-51 pounds (4.5- 23 kg), move heavy equipment, and stand for long periods.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Accurate compounding of prescription medications in non-sterile laboratory environment
• Package and label compounded medications in suitable containers
• Ensure quality at every compounding step and execute quality assurance procedures on assigned randomly sampled scripts and document results following standards
• Appropriate documentation of activities according to Good Documentation Practices
• Maintain inventory of ingredients and packaging components
• Properly use, verify and maintain equipment needed in making of compounds
• Maintain a clean compounding area at all times
