JOB SUMMARY

As the Delivery Driver for the pharmacy you will play a pivotal role in providing an efficient, safe and professional medicine delivery service while maintaining or improving upon our great patient experience.
The role mostly relies on an individual approach to the tasks assigned for delivery however there will be regular occasions where there will be frequent communications with the delivery team in the pharmacy.
As some of our patients will seldom get a chance to interact with the staff in the pharmacy this role carries the extra responsibility of representing Pharm@sea and what we stand for.
As well as having a local knowledge of Sussex you will be expected to think outside the box as the situation may demand.

MUST HOLD A VALID FULL UK DRIVING LICENCE, AT LEAST 5 YEARS OF DRIVING EXPERIENCE AND AT LEAST 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE AS A DELIVERY DRIVER. ALSO MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE DRIVING A TRANSIT-SIZED VAN.

Responsibilities
  1. Delivering Duties
  • Deliver ambient/chilled/controlled medicines to the homes of our patients while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
  • Follow the delivery protocol or SOP closely to ensure the highest levels of safety are maintained while delivering.
  • Ensure the medicines reach our patients in the correct undamaged condition.
  • Work to a pre-planned route. making deliveries on time, delivering to Patients’ homes, hospitals, pharmacies, and between Pharm@sea branches.
  • Ensure where necessary, consistent and concise feedback is given to the delivery team to help with the optimization of delivery routes and the efficiency of deliveries.
  • Treat our patients individually considering their status such as their vulnerabilities and disabilities.
  • Be flexible to have leeway for unforeseen circumstances.
  • Drive safely and courteously.
  • Ensure any paperwork or tasks on the Urbantz app are completed as required.
  • Ensure all required daily vehicle checks are completed and recorded on the Checksafe app.
  1. Communication:
  • Respond to patient questions and refer them to the pharmacy team for further information about their medicines or service levels.
  • Liaise regularly with the delivery manager or other team members in their absence to make the most of the efficiencies the Urbantz app brings.
  • Regularly liaise with the delivery manager to discuss availability for work.
  1. Appearance:
  • You will be the “face” of our business, not just a delivery driver and as such it is important to make the right impression to our patients with your appearance.
  • Maintain a professional image by being neatly dressed while on duty. Any work clothes/shoes should be clean, free of stains or tears.
