Description

Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Informatics, the Application Analyst - Pharmacy Informatics provides hands on technical support for all Temple University Hospital, Inc. Pharmacy Informatics systems and technology. Works collaboratively with Temple University Hospital, Inc. Pharmacy and IT departments to design, install, test, modify, upgrade and support Pharmacy/IT initiatives across the health system. Responsible for supporting intermediate to complex analytical, clinical and administrative pharmacy IT project integrations involving EMR’s, automated dispensing cabinets, pharmacy inventory management and diversion systems, smart infusion pumps, automated refrigerator monitoring systems and automated IV workflow systems. Works with Dir Diversion & Informatics to maintain compliance program, audit controlled substance transactions, investigate discrepancies and possible diversion. Responsible for obtaining and analyzing outcomes/metrics associated with Pharmacy Informatics applications across the health system. Interacts extensively with TUH, Inc. Information Technology leadership to build working relationships will all levels of staff, management and healthcare providers to oversee successful pharmacy technology installs and system upgrades.
Education
Bachelors Degree: Healthcare, Information Technology, or a related field (Required)
Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
3 years experience as a certified Pharmacy Technician with informatics expertise at an institution utilizing automated dispensing systems, EMR, and data analytics (Required)
3 years experience in pharmacy operations with experience developing, installing, modifying, optimizing and upgrading Pharmacy IT hardware and software systems (Required)
General Experience and extensive knowledge of Pharmacy/Healthcare IT (Required)
General Experience with electronic health records, automated dispensing cabinets, pharmacy inventory management systems, IV automation/workflow systems, carousel inventory management inventory, IV pumps. (Required)
General Experience and understanding of Pharmacy Informatics in both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy settings (Required)
General Experience in a large academic multi-hospital system medical center with matrix reporting structure (Preferred)
License/Certifications
CPHT - Certified Pharmacy Technician (Required)
