Description

The Pharmacy Operations Manager, under the direction of the Regional Manager, Pharmacy Operations, Bayshore Specialty Rx and National Director, Specialty Pharmacy, is accountable for all aspects of the pharmacy operation including people leadership, business development, human resources, budget and finance, quality management, information systems, and the integration of directives from the National Service Centre and local health authorities. In addition, the Pharmacy Operations Manager is required to work collaboratively with the Specialty Drug Care program, Direct Care, Diabetes Express, Patient Support Services, DEX Distribution Inc., and with external stakeholders to actively pursue future growth opportunities by interacting with Specialty Pharmaceutical industry representatives.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Pharmacy or a PharmD, from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensed with a Provincial College of Pharmacists and is in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Clinical Pharmacist.
  • High level of computer skills.
  • Good time management, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Bilingual is an asset (English/French)
Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe, secure, and supportive work environment for the Bayshore team through strategies that stimulate job satisfaction, growth, and development as well as employee engagement
  • Provide tools, training, and resources for staff and Bayshore to grow and succeed.
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance, and development activities.
  • Lead the pharmacy team to manage performance and growth.
  • Achieve operational targets and responsible for financial planning activities, including monitoring profit and loss statement, inventory, and implementing measures to attain target metrics.
  • Foster and support entrepreneurial initiatives to increase value and drive growth.
  • Leverages strong specialty drug and clinical knowledge to proactively identify opportunities for growth and partnerships to ensure that Bayshore is a Pharmacy Leader.
  • Collaborate between pharmacy and both internal and external stakeholders, to improve operational workflow.
  • Manage pharmacy operations, efficiency initiatives, and handoffs to stakeholders ensuring our patients receive a high level of quality care from Bayshore.
  • Ensures compliance with all contract standards, clinical protocols, and audit requirements.
  • Ensure that patient care and service are delivered in accordance with local, provincial, and federal legislation and Standards of Practice.
  • Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company’s Quality Management System
  • Participates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns. Responsible for completing Accident Reports for all direct reports who injure themselves on the job, within 24 hours of the incident.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
