EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid license to practice in Alberta.
  • PharmD is preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive management experience.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Solid understanding of Pharmacy landscape and retail industry.
  • Operational experience, preferably in multi-locations.
  • Excellent understanding of store processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills; ability to motivate a team.
  • Proven ability to drive and build the business, lead by example, and build community relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Min 2 years of dispensing experience.
  • Experience with Kroll and Nexus are an asset.
  • Excellent ability to make decisions and think independently.
  • Prioritize activities quickly in response to changing initiatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong personal computing skills and knowledge of Pharmacy systems.
  • Weekend availability required

Responsibilities

Working closely with Lukes Executive Team, Pharmacy Licensees, and other Pharmacy Team Members, you will be responsible for the following for both our Bridgeland and Killarney locations:

  • Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to patients, and health care professionals and advise them on signs, side effects, adverse effects, drug interactions, and dosage.
  • Ensure compliance with College and AHS standards.
  • Audit, update and implement standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Ensure a high level of patient care is maintained. Report and follow up on any medication incidents.
  • Review and identify critical financial metrics such as labour, inventory, growth opportunities, etc.
  • Work closely with Lukes Executive team and Licensees when dealing with disciplinary matters.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build and manage talent, address underperforming colleagues, and participate in the recruitment process through interviews and identifying suitable candidates.
  • Support staff training and onboarding.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in sales and script growth and maintain a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all practices according to Federal and Provincial Law.
  • Supervise Pharmacy technicians and assistants in functions that are authorized by government and professional regulations.
  • Ensure proper preparation, packaging, distribution, and storage of vaccines, serums, biologicals, and other pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensure proper disposal of medical waste and expired prescriptions.
  • Willing to partake in external pharmacy support programs.
  • Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Provide customer service that will promote the sale of merchandise in the pharmacy.
  • Assist, if required, in preparing reports, compiling statistics, processing invoices, and preparing annual budgets.
  • Maintain medication profile of patients.
  • Provide information to customers on the selection and use of non-prescription medication.
  • Manage asset protection to prevent shrink.
