Our 886-bed nonprofit, acute, tertiary, teaching Level I trauma center hospital is located in the heart of Los Angeles. The Pharmacy Department has over 500 staff members who provide comprehensive inpatient pharmacy services as well as outpatient services via two cancer centers, outpatient pharmacies and ambulatory care clinics. The Drug Use Policy (DUP) Pharmacist Coordinator plays a key role in shaping medication policies, optimizing drug therapies, and ensuring safe and effective patient care at Cedars-Sinai. The DUP pharmacist is involved in developing content for Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee; initiatives may include evaluating new drugs for formulary, developing evidence-based guidelines in conjunction with medical staff, and strategic planning of policies/processes for improving efficiency. Additionally, the DUP team serves as gatekeepers for high cost/risk medications and drug information resource for medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff on complex therapeutic issues. This position has a flexible hybrid opportunity (up to 50% remote) and inpatient staffing (1 weekend per month) requirement. #LI-RD1

Responsibilities

The coordinator shapes medication policies and optimizes drug therapies by developing content for the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee. They serve as a resource for complex therapeutic issues and act as gatekeepers for high-cost and high-risk medications.
