OVERVIEW

We are seeking a qualified, dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy operations, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and service. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and an understanding of medication administration processes.

Responsibilities .

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients, answering queries, and providing information about medications. Ability to follow standard operating procedures for taking in prescriptions and handing out prescription medication.
  • Medicines counter sales experience and self care advice with signposting as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
  • Help manage inventory by restocking shelves, checking expiry dates, and placing orders for medications as needed.
  • Support the pharmacy team in administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and managing prescriptions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the pharmacy environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience and qualification as a Pharmacy Healthcare Assistant is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Strong understanding of patient care principles and medication administration processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
