JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team part-time in Shettleston Health Centre Pharmacy. In this role, you will work a Thursday and a Friday between 9am and 6pm.
As an integral part of our team you will be responsible for welcoming patients into the pharmacy and handling over the counter sales and providing advice under the supervision of the pharmacist.
This position is ideal for individuals looking to start or advance their career in the pharmacy sector.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is preferred but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications and prescriptions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
• Basic computer skills for managing patient records and processing prescriptions.
• A willingness to learn about pharmaceuticals, medical terminology, and pharmacy operations.
• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to health regulations.

• Greeting customers at the counter in a friendly manner
• Monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
• Provide exceptional customer service by answering queries and assisting patients with their medication needs.
• Getting patients prescriptions for them
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the pharmacy environment.
• Process sales for Over the counter treatment
• Advise on free NHS services and process such requests for eligible patients
• Receive prescription orders
• Support the team with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining records.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of pharmaceutical products and services.
