Pharmacy Shop Floor Assistant

Please note: this is a full-time position.

Goldchem Pharmacy is a well-established independent community pharmacy in Southsea, Portsmouth. We provide a wide range of healthcare services to the local community, including prescription medicines, pharmacy services and vaccinations.

We are proud to offer a friendly, professional and welcoming environment for our patients and customers, and we are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Shop Floor Assistant to join our busy team.

Ideally, you will have previous experience working in a busy pharmacy, healthcare setting or similar customer-facing environment. Strong customer service skills are essential, together with a confident, friendly and professional approach when dealing with both customers and colleagues.

We are looking for someone who is adaptable, quick to learn and comfortable working as part of a busy team. Good IT skills, including email, texting, and internet browser usage are important, as is the ability to enter information accurately and efficiently.

Your role will include:

• Acting as a first point of contact for customers, both in person and over the telephone
• Answering general queries and providing appropriate basic advice, while referring clinical or more complex queries to the pharmacist when required
• Helping to ensure the pharmacy remains a clean, organised and welcoming environment
• Assisting customers with the purchase of both healthcare and non-healthcare products
• Receiving prescriptions from patients and handing out dispensed medicines in accordance with pharmacy procedures
• Assisting with stock control, ordering, pricing and merchandising within the shop
