Every other weekend; 8hr shifts rotating between day and evening shift 1 weekday evening shift per week; 4 PM - 9:30PM Overview Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Under direct supervision of staff pharmacists, the Pharmacy Technician has primary responsibility of preparing drugs in unit-dose for IV/OR, inpatient and ancillary area. According to standard procedures, Pharmacy Students assist the staff pharmacist in physician order processing, dispensing medications, transporting medication supplies and maintaining appropriate records. Responsibilities Provides accurately prepared orders of pharmaceutical supplies by properly assembling orders and requisitions with the correct products. Provides accurately prepared sterile preparations by properly following procedures. Maintains quality assurance standards and maintenance of required documentation. Delivers IV solutions and medications to nursing divisions and ancillary departments. Maintains a clean, orderly and sufficiently stocked work area.
