Overview The Pharmacy Supervisor supervises the work of pharmacy staff in the compounding, storing, and dispensing of prescription medications. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, timely, efficient, compliant and productive workflows. This role contributes to the development of pharmacy operating and clinical policies and procedures and ensures that all policies and procedures are understood and followed by pharmacy staff. Responsibilities Supervises daily operations of the pharmacy department by disbursing day-to-day work assignments, scheduling staff, and reviewing the performance of staff.Answers difficult customer requests for information about pharmacy services such as medication delivery and drug information.Supervises essential processes to maintain inventory and oversees the delivery of medications and supplies to patient care.Prepares drug usage and inventory Records and reports indicating potential ways of reducing the cost of drugs, and the inventory of controlled substances and other drugs which are subject to abuse or require special security measures.Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION:Required: Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharm Preferred: MHA, MS Pharmacy or Pharmacy Administration, MBA, or other advanced degree in pharmacy or healthcare leadership EXPERIENCE:Required: Current active license to practice pharmacy in North Carolina, or eligible to obtain North Carolina pharmacy license within four (4) 2 months of date of hire; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderPreferred: 3 years in a pharmacy leadership role LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required: Current active license to practice pharmacy in North Carolina, or eligible to obtain North Carolina pharmacy license within 2 months.
