Description

Overview:
NaphCare is hiring a Pharmacy Systems Project Manager to join our Corporate Information Technology team on-site in Birmingham, AL. This role will serve as a liaison between NaphCare’s Pharmacy Operations, Internal IT, and Software Development teams, supporting the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of pharmacy-related software systems. The focus of this position is to bridge the gap between clinical pharmacy workflows and technical development, ensuring that solutions are practical, compliant, and aligned with operational needs.
The ideal candidate will bring with strong software project management skills and along with a willingness to learn pharmacy. This is not a client-facing role, but instead an internal-facing position designed to drive successful software implementation, enhancement, and adoption across pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison between Pharmacy Operations, IT, and software development teams
  • Support implementation and ongoing optimization of pharmacy-related software tools and workflows
  • Translate pharmacy operations and clinical workflow needs into technical requirements for internal and third-party vendor development and IT teams
  • Assist with testing, validation, and rollout of new features and updates
  • Provide internal training and documentation for pharmacy software users
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and escalate to development/IT teams as needed
  • Maintain project plans, documentation, and progress reports for pharmacy software initiatives
  • Coordinate go-live activities and ensure smooth transitions for new system enhancements
  • Partner with Pharmacy Leadership to align software functionality with compliance, safety, and efficiency goals
  • Limited travel may be required for training or project-related activities

Qualifications:

  • Background in healthcare IT preferred (willingness to learn pharmacy workflows required)
  • 3+ years of experience in software implementation, project management, or IT systems support
  • Familiarity with pharmacy systems, medication management software, or EHR modules is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical language into operational terms and vice versa
  • High comfort level working with third party vendors and fostering collaborative relationships and positive rapport with their IT / development teams
  • High comfort level with learning new systems and providing training/documentation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Project and other Kanban organization software a plus
  • Strong organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • PMP certification a plus but not required
