Description
Description Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy Technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can only be performed legally by a registered pharmacist. Shift: First shift, 40 hrs. per week, every 3rd weekend Requirements High school graduate or equivalent. Pharmacy Technician certification required (certification must be current and updated before the expiration date). Current Registration with NC Board of Pharmacy or registered within 30 days of hire. Hospital experience preferred, but not required. Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g. preparing IV admixtures, use of computer) Lifting and carrying loads (up to 50 pounds); must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include stooping and kneeling; sitting, walking, or standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate equipment used for the job. Ability to handle a high volume of work. Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedules. Ability to set priorities, solve problems, and respond quickly to emergency requests. Normal range of hearing and vision to perform work and communicate.
