JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • This is a PRN position to help cover Day/Evening shifts. Must be able to work hours between 6am - 10:30pm with rotating weekends *
    The Pharmacy Technician Specialist is responsible for accurately performing advanced and basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner. In addition, they are responsible for performing duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs), other specialized duties and/or leadership roles as assigned by the pharmacy management team.

What You Will Do In This Role

  • Performs duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs)
  • Accurately performs and documents monthly medication storage area inspections as assigned
  • Accurately performs required calculations
  • Accurately and safely compounds and labels medications and parenteral admixtures
  • Always utilizes aseptic techniques in the preparation of parenteral compounding
  • Compliant with all USP 795, 797, 800 daily/monthly requirements (i.e. Cleaning laminar airflow cabinets and biological safety cabinets, wearing personal protective equipment, etc.)

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:

  • National Certification (PTCB or NHA) required
  • Texas State Board Registration required (Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern)
  • IV certification preferred
  • Sterile compounding experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years hospital experience preferred
  • Associate’s Degree

It provides spine care for common spine disorders. Spine care is also provided for rare, hard-to-treat spinal deformities. Those include adult and pediatric scoliosis and spondylolistheses. We offer complex spine surgery and minimally invasive surgical options.
