Pharmacy Tech - PRN 7300 Pharmacy Schedule: PRN as needed About the Position The Pharmacy Technician supports the efficient functioning of the pharmacy. They assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and safely. Overview of Responsibilities Assists pharmacists in providing care to patients in a safe manner. Maintains a safe and orderly work environment. Answers and routes phone calls. Answers the window. Communicates with fellow staff members by various means (verbal, phone, Voalte, etc.). Uses pneumatic tube system. Uses Epic for several functions, such as processing med messages and dispense tracking. Uses several Omnicell technologies, such as automated dispensing cabinets (Omnicell/AWS), carousel (CPM), and vault (CSM). Uses Rx Verify for restocking emergency kits and trays. Uses Simplifi to document completion of tasks. Supports cleanroom processes, such as utilizing the pass-through boxes. Handles controlled substances appropriately. Processes returns and expirations. Services Connersville locations. Performs and documents floor stock inspections. Works with Materials Coordinator to stock medications received. Documents prior to admission medications in Epic. Compounds and repackages non-sterile medications per USP standards. Uses Epic’s Compounding and Repackaging module for non-sterile medications. Education & Experience Minimum education required: High school diploma, or equivalent. Minimum experience preferred: Previous pharmacy experience. Licensure & Certification Pharmacy Technician Certification Board license (PTCB) must be obtained within 5 years of accepting position. Ability to obtain Indiana Pharmacy Technician license.
