We are looking for two talented and dedicated Pharmacy Technicians to join our team in a dynamic and well-supported team in Aylesbury.
Our pharmacy is part of a community-focused, well-established store with a wide range of services that set us apart and make us an ideal place to work.
Work alongside an experienced Pharmacist Store Manager, ACPT, and a skilled team of pharmacy advisors who are committed to delivering top-notch patient care. Strong team culture where collaboration and development are encouraged.
We like to call you the ‘Captain of the ship’ – Our Pharmacy Technicians set up the day ahead, they organise and allocate tasks in a timely manner, checking in with the team throughout the day to ensure all tasks are completed.
Pharmacy Technicians are also involved in the entire medicine dispensing process, from preparation to final checks. They also play a pivotal role in inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels and handling the ordering and receiving of medicines.
Pharmacy Technicians liaise with healthcare professionals, patients and other members of the pharmacy team, facilitating effective communication so excellent people skills are a must.
Beyond dispensing, pharmacy technicians may assist in the delivery of pharmacy services, contributing to public health initiatives and wellbeing programs.
Two permanent opportunities are available for full time, 37.5 hours and part time, 30.5 hours per week.
Shift Pattern - 37.5 hours
Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm
Saturday 9am to 5pm
Alternate Saturdays
Shift Pattern - 30.5 hours
Monday to Friday - 9.30am to 6pm
Alternate Saturday

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE.

We’re offering you an exciting career opportunity. It’s a chance to continue your professional and pharmacy journey. You will need to have an NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent), and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council to join us.
But it isn’t just about experience, we’re looking for people with a genuine passion for customer care, who will support and lead the dispensary team, and deliver pharmacy strategy in partnership with the team.
To work within our dispensaries you also need to have completed a Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) qualification or equivalent.
You may wish to become an Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) with us; we can give you the training and support you need in order to achieve this. As you continue to develop your healthcare knowledge through these qualifications and roles, this will be reflected in your pay and benefits.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY.

You will help deliver the safe and effective running of the pharmacy and healthcare business, and lead the day-to-day running of the dispensary.

Your duties will include:

  • Responsibility for legal, safe & ethical decision-making in the pharmacy.
  • Delivering on-target delivery of items and services income.
  • Complying with legal and professional requirements and accepted guidance on professional practice in Boots.
  • Tailoring conversations with every customer to ensure they leave your pharmacy feeling informed and confident about their healthcare needs and coaching other pharmacy team members to do the same.
  • Seeking opportunities to engage external stakeholders to secure locally commissioned services and drive services and items.
  • Delivering efficient dispensary operations and ensures dispensing losses are minimised.
  • Ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing and checking of prescriptions.
