We are seeking a driven Pharmacy Technician to join our dedicated pharmacy team at our Boots pharmacy on Broad Street, South Molton, Devon, EX36.
Join this great store in a beautiful market town, this store dispenses approximately 2,500 items per week
Are you a pharmacy technician looking to train to ACT level? Boots can help! We have an exceptional 6 week program, made up of 3 core elements – Knowledge, competency and assessment. Once you have completed and passed this program, you are a fully-fledged, capable and skilled Accuracy Checking Technician and your pay will increase in line with that. (This program is optional at this time)
We like to call you the ‘Captain of the ship’ – Our Pharmacy Technicians set up the day ahead, they organise and allocate tasks in a timely manner, checking in with the team throughout the day to ensure all tasks are completed.
Pharmacy Technicians are also involved in the entire medicine dispensing process, from preparation to final checks. They also play a pivotal role in inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels and handling the ordering and receiving of medicines.
Pharmacy Technicians liaise with healthcare professionals, patients and other members of the pharmacy team, facilitating effective communication so excellent people skills are a must.
Beyond dispensing, pharmacy technicians may assist in the delivery of pharmacy services, contributing to public health initiatives and wellbeing programs.
Pharmacy Opening Hours:
Monday to Saturday - 9:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday - Closed
Working hours would be across 5 days, Monday to Saturday, 37.5 days per week. (Saturdays on a rota basis)

You must have Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Services to be eligible for this position. You must also be registered with the Pharmaceutical council (GPhC) – This is mandatory.

Our Pharmacy Technicians make a real difference by delivering outstanding patient-centred service to the communities we serve; from triaging patients, to inspiring and coaching the healthcare team, and providing expert technical advice on the supply of medicines.

Responsibilities
  • Providing expert, tailored advice to patients about available medicines, products or Macmillan Cancer Support.
  • Delivering various services dependant on the store needs.
  • Building great relationships with your pharmacy team; coaching and inspiring them to deliver the highest standard of care.
  • Assisting with the triage of patients and distributing prescription handouts.
  • Taking ownership for legal, safe and ethical decision-making in the pharmacy.
  • Manage operational tasks including replenishing stock, workload management, order fulfilment, receiving and handling controlled drugs whilst ensuring patient safety.
  • Evidence of successful completion from a recognised training provider, such as Buttercups. If you do not already hold a formal qualification in accuracy checking, you are required to complete the Boots 6-week Accuracy Checking Programme
