We are currently seeking a full time Pharmacy Technician to prepare routine doses of medications before they are dispensed by the Pharmacist. Assembles and prepares IV equipment and solutions prior to admixture; delivers medications and solutions to nursing units.

Responsibilities:

  • Fills unit dose medication cassettes
  • Prepare and assemble IV equipment and solutions prior to admixture by the Pharmacist.
  • Repackage pharmaceuticals, including preparing and affixing all necessary labels to the packaged product.
  • Assist pharmacists as directed with filling medication orders, preparing and delivering IV solutions, medication or supplies to all patient care areas.
  • Prepare non-sterile ingredients required for compounding and preparing medications
  • Performs monthly inspections of pharmaceutical supplies stored in patient care areas;
  • Delivers floor stock-controlled drugs to nursing units according to established protocols.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certification as Pharmacy Technician by the National Technician Board

OR Enrollment in an approved Pharmacy Technician program required

OR Enrollment in a medically-related training program (e.g., RN, LPN)

  • 6 months of experience in a hospital pharmacy is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal & customer services skills
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
