Professional Development: Ongoing learning and career advancement opportunities. Position Summary: Provides distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the registered pharmacist. Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems. Fills medication carts on a daily basis. Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department. Repackages bulk medications. Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transcribe physician’s orders Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs Ability to work under stressful situations. Knowledge of universal precaution and isolation standards Basic computer skills Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred Proof of current CPhT standing and Kentucky Board of Pharmacy Registration Required; Successful completion of the National Certification Examination by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technician (ICPT) required 6 months from date of hire/transfer; Institutional pharmacy or medical experience Preferred Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
