Description Reports To: Director of Pharmacy Employee Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary: Under general supervision, but in line with established PC&HC policies and procedures, responsible for preparing medications for patient consumption and coordination of PC&HC prescription programs. Essential Functions Represent PC&HC to the employees, patients, and guests in a courteous and professional manner. Provide prompt, efficient and accurate service. Responsible for answering Pharmacy telephone, assisting patients and collecting payment for medication. Assist patients in obtaining prescriptions through Prescription Assistance Programs. Call refills in to Prescription Assistance Programs. Contact patients when prescriptions arrive and assist with pick-up. Routinely monitors medications and removes outdated medications to ensure only current medications are kept in stock; disposes medications appropriately and keeps appropriate record of disposal. Inventory medications and place orders to maintain adequate supply of stock. Dispense medications by weighing, counting and measuring. Document the dispensing of all medication according to the PC&HC policies and procedures. Sign out and restock medication using the medication software per PC&HC policies and procedures. Improve the patient experience and health care processes and help assure the provision of high quality health care, as well as an ongoing process of performance improvement. Marginal Functions ______________________________________________________________________________ Perform all other duties as required or assigned Requirements Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a pharmacy preferred. Certificate from pharmacy technical training program, junior college graduate and maintain an active TN pharmacy technician license. Accurate in all transactions. Proficient with computers and programs. Must follow all HIPAA and OSHA requirements. Must be supportive of our mission in order to provide healthcare to the under-insured and uninsured.
