Pharmacy Technician I Full-time, Night Shift, 3 nights on, 1 off, 3 nights on, 7 days off. Hours are 7p-7:30am, every other weekend and holidays that fall during your rotation. AFSCME - Union Posted: December 26, 2025 We now offer a Night Program – if qualified, you could receive an additional $2 per hour on top of our current off-shift differential ($1.60). Must have 6 months of UPMC experience to qualify and must commit to working all full-time shifts, including night shifts. Sign-on Bonus: $5,000 for a 2-year commitment! Purpose: Responsible for the proper storage and distribution of drugs; receives and accounts for drugs coming from all vendors. Delivers medications to patient care and other areas; picks up drug returns and applicable paperwork; and puts all returned unit-dose products back to proper receipts. Responsible for filling patient drug boxes, floor stock orders, and automated dispensing cabinets. Assists Pharmacists as directed. Maintains daily report. Responsibilities: Accurately fills floor stock request. Prepare correct labeling for bulk drugs. Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations. Basic understanding of the concept of physical stability and chemical stability as it relates to parenteral pharmaceuticals. Correctly interpret physician orders and can distinguish between pharmaceutical orders, laboratory tests, radiology, nursing, and other orders. Perform monthly medication storage area inspections. Selects drugs from stock in proper dose, dosage form, and quantity as ordered by the physician under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Understands microbial contamination and exhibits Aseptic Technique while preparing sterile pharmaceutical products. Repackages drugs into a unit-of-use container. Education and Formal Training Required: High school graduate or equivalent required. Previous pharmacy experience preferred. Must be familiar with a typewriter keyboard and demonstrate the ability by producing a neat, accurate, and legible copy. The candidate must have the ability to adapt to the computerized Pharmacy Information Systems utilized. The candidate must demonstrate initiative and good judgment.
