Description

Pharmacy Technician I Full-time, Day/Night Shift, three 12 hour shifts per week. Hours are7:00 AM - 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM —rotating Weekends and Holidays. AFSCME - Union Posted: October 24, 2025 Sign-on Bonus: $5,000 for a 2-year commitment Responsibilities: Accurately fills floor stock request. Prepare correct labeling for bulk drugs. Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations. Basic understanding of concept of physical stability and chemical stability as it relates to parenteral pharmaceuticals. Correctly interpret physician orders and can distinguish between pharmaceutical orders, laboratory tests, radiology, nursing and other orders. Perform monthly medication storage area inspections. Selects drugs from stock in proper dose, dosage form and quantity as ordered by physician under direct supervision of a pharmacist. Understands microbial contamination and exhibits Aseptic Technique while preparing sterile pharmaceutical products. Repackages drugs into unit of use container. Education and Formal Training Required: High school graduate or equivalent required. Experience Required: Prefer previous pharmacy experience Must be familiar with typewriter keyboard and demonstrate the ability by producing a neat, accurate and legible copy. Individual must have ability to adapt to the computerized Pharmacy Information Systems utilized. Individual must demonstrate initiative and good judgment.
