Position Overview The Pharmacy Technician II supports pharmacy operations and medication distribution across multiple Orlando Health hospital locations. This role works closely with pharmacists and clinical teams to ensure safe, accurate, and timely medication delivery, utilizing Orlando Health pharmacy systems, software, and automated technology. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced pharmacy technician seeking flexible PRN work, multi‑site exposure, and continued growth within a hospital setting. Education & Requirements Education High school diploma or equivalent (required) Licensure / Certification Active Pharmacy Technician registration with the Florida State Board of Pharmacy (required) Experience 1–4 years of pharmacy technician experience Hospital experience preferred Essential Functions Demonstrates knowledge of safety, emergency, and risk‑management procedures Upholds the mission, values, policies, and customer service standards of Orlando Health Performs pharmacy technician duties in accordance with departmental policies, regulatory standards, and best practices Operates pharmacy equipment and technology in compliance with safety guidelines and procedures Assists pharmacists with medication preparation and distribution, including: Automated dispensing cabinets Aseptic compounding and IV admixture, including chemotherapy as applicable Performs buyer and inventory functions, including medication procurement and supply management Maintains compliance with USP 797 standards and required documentation Ensures safe handling, storage, and disposal of medications and hazardous materials Participates in special projects and quality initiatives as assigned Assists with training and onboarding of new pharmacy technicians as needed Maintains advanced proficiency and may support specialized technician services (e.g., medication history acquisition) based on departmental needs Demonstrates reliability through regular, punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and applicable regulations Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures Why Join Orlando Health?
