Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Assist the Pharmacist(s) in processing and filling of prescriptions and medication/medical supply orders. Review and enter orders and patient information into the pharmacy computer system. Process and assist in the maintenance of pharmacy inventory. Perform sales transactions and provide customer/patient/medical staff with appropriate information about medications, health insurance, and other health care related services. File third-party insurance claims on paper and electronically. Assist in clinical pharmacy operations and therapeutic shoe fittings. Process interdepartmental drug orders from requisition ordering to clinic billing. Maintain stock of essential items for clinic use. Reporting of clinic drug usage and billing. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 1. High School graduate 2. Completion of pharmacy technical program or on-the-job education/pharmacy work experience 3. One year work experience, preferably as a pharmacy technician/clerk 4. Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships 5. Skills and ability to operate various office equipment especially computers 6. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing and understand verbal and written communications 7. Ability to interpret and apply guidelines and procedures 8. Ability to be accurate and attentive to detail 9. Experience in third party pharmacy billing and collection 10. Three years experience in purchasing and inventory control (preferred) 11. Ability to work in a high volume, sometimes stressful environment 12. Completion and passing of courses to become a Certified Fitter of Therapeutic Shoes
