Pharmacy Technician- PRN The Pharmacy Technician under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist according to all regulatory and accrediting, and facility standards dispenses medications and maintains the inventory, supplies, and organization of the pharmacy. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs all duties under supervision of a pharmacist. 1. Fills orders with correct medications. 2. Delivers medications to patient care areas and automated dispensing machines accurately and timely. 3. Procures pharmaceutical and related supplies by contractual terms. 4. Maintains appropriate pharmacy inventory levels 5. Prepare pharmaceutical preparations including unit-dosing medication and properly labeling any dispensed medications. 6. Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to patients, computes charges, and enters data into computers. 7. Generates require reports (e.g., pick list, expiring medications). 8. Maintains temperature and environmental monitoring logs appropriately. 9. Prioritizes work (e.g., stats made first). 1. Restock shelves and rotates stock. 2. Properly dispose of non-recyclable items. 3. Maintains refrigerator temperature and other quality assurance logs. 4. Receives and stores incoming supplies. 5. Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records. 6. Returns medications to stock and rotates stock. 10. Organizes and maintains pharmacy related documents. 11. Maintains clean and sanitary pharmacy department. 12. Collaborate with Director of Pharmacy to ensure department needs are met and departmental goals are achieved. 13. Maintains security of the pharmacy. Maintains security of controlled substances. 14. Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: * The ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with medical and administrative staff as well as patients and families in an assertive, professional manner * Basic understanding of the role and use of a computer in the processing of prescription orders with word processing skills * Self-motivated, self-directed with excellent organizational skills * Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously * Good math and science skills * Good stress coping skills   Connect with our Recruiter Not ready to complete an application, or have questions?
