Job Description
An exciting opportunity is available for a Dispensary Technician to join the team at Ramsay Pharmacy, Noosa Hospital, on a permanent full-time basis.
About the Role
As the Dispensary Technician, you will be supervised by a qualified pharmacist as you prepare medications and process prescriptions for our valued patients & customers.
- Assist the Pharmacist with the dispensing of medication.
- Remain up to date with PBS legislative requirements impacting the pharmacy/dispensary.
- Strive to provide specialised patient care to our valued patients and customers.
About You:
What you’ll bring
- Previous working experience in dispensing medications.
- Certificate IV in Community Pharmacy and S2/S3 qualifications are considered an asset.

- Refer prescriptions to Pharmacists and assist in the preparation of medications.
- Fill, prepare and label patients' prescriptions under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
- Accurately enter and record prescription and medication information using pharmacy dispensing systems.
- Assist Pharmacists with prescription processing and medication preparation.
- Record details of medications and medical supplies.
- Place orders for medications and pharmacy supplies as required.
- Receive, check, organise and store medications and medical supplies in accordance with pharmacy procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and maintain appropriate inventory.
- Assist with stock rotation, expiry-date checks and inventory control.
- Assist with the delivery or supply of medications and medical supplies where required.
- Assist with preparation of compounded products under the supervision of a Pharmacist, where applicable.
- Assist with medication audits, reports and stock reviews.
- Support Pharmacists with routine pharmacy operations and patient-related information gathering under appropriate supervision.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with pharmacy policies, procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised dispensary and medication storage area.
- Work collaboratively with Pharmacists and other pharmacy staff to ensure accurate and timely medication supply.
Essential requirements
- Relevant pharmacy technician qualification or equivalent training.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant Pharmacy Technician experience.
- Demonstrated ability to perform pharmacy dispensing and medication preparation duties.
- Good understanding of pharmacy procedures, medication handling and stock management.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a pharmacy team.
