Schedule: PRN Shift: Days The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Carrollwood · Family-like culture · Teamwork driven both inter Dept and multidisciplinary · Positive working climate to support a well-balanced work life balance The role you’ll contribute: Primary responsibility is the provision of medication distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks, which includes but is not limited to assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medications, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs, including the compounding, dispensing, charging, and delivery of medications to the patients. Accurately responds to medication dispensing requests, prepares medications for pharmacist final review/check, delivers checked medications, and returns unused or expired medications to appropriate pharmacy areas. Prepares sterile products such as IV solutions, piggyback containers, irrigations, TPNs, prefilled syringes, reconstituting of medications under aseptic conditions. Keeps work area and equipment clean and neat. Performs various clerical and specialized duties. Helps in the training of pharmacy technician I and newly hired pharmacy technicians. Accurately refills and conducts inventory of medication dispensing systems and accurately loads and unloads medications as directed. Assists in recording and distribution of large and small volume IV solutions. Performs all necessary tasks related to front reception area. Serves the needs of neonatal, pediatric, adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients. Provides distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist, performing activities or tasks in specialty pharmacy services. Assists pharmacists in promoting an organized and functional pharmacy service, prepares medications for dispensing, and maintains records. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The value you’ll bring to the team: · Accurately prepares and safely dispenses patient-specific medication doses, ensuring correct drug, dose, dosage form, expiration dating, and barcode scanning. Compounds sterile medications such as IV solutions and piggyback containers under aseptic conditions, following USP & guidelines and institutional protocols, with appropriate oversight. · Operates and troubleshoots medication automation systems, ADCs, and pharmacy software; interprets electronic health records accurately to support safe medication practices. · Provides coverage across core pharmacy practice areas, including central/distributive operations, decentralized services, automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) management, and cleanroom compounding as assigned. · Maintains inventory accuracy by receiving and rotating stock, removing expired medications, guaranteeing accurate medication counts, and managing controlled substances in compliance with regulatory standards. Ensures proper medication storage and overall inventory integrity. · Identifies, reports, and helps prevent potential medication errors, including look-alike/sound-alike risks, contributing to a culture of safety. The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: · High School Grad or Equiv · 1+ years of Work Experience · Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT-LIC)
