Description Position Summary The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining pharmacy inventory. The Technician should have strong organizational skills, be proficient in basic math, and possess a commitment to accuracy and customer satisfaction. Position Summary Expanded: Under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act,?(“The Unity Bill”) this position is considered a “Safety-sensitive position. “Safety-sensitive” is defined to include “any job that includes tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others.” Employees working in “safety-sensitive” roles are subject to this exception and subject to disciplinary action in the event of a positive test for marijuana or its metabolites. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions and responsibilities, but are not limited to the following: Assist pharmacists in filling and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently. Maintain pharmacy inventory by ordering, receiving, and shelving medications and supplies. Prepare prescription labels and ensure proper packaging and labeling of medications. Process insurance claims and assist customers with billing inquiries. Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone calls, greeting customers, and addressing their needs and concerns. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area, including the dispensing counter and storage areas. Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and pharmacy policies and procedures. Handle and resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and timely manner. Assist in conducting regular inventory counts and audits. Stay updated on new medications, dosage forms, and pharmacy technology to provide accurate information to customers and healthcare professionals. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent work experience preferred. Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and multitask. Proficiency in basic math calculations. Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
