  JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Minimum Work Experience: Previous experience in a retail pharmacy is preferred. Required Licenses / Certifications: Pharmacy Technician Registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy. Certification preferred. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to do remedial math (add, subtract, multiply and divide). Must understand simple fractions and decimals. Must be able to communicate well and get along with others. Should be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel & Windows XP. BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB Compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceuticals.  Prepares and maintains all necessary records on prescriptions, patient charges and inventory, and provides information to the hospital staff members on drugs and pharmaceuticals. Part-time and Per-Diem positions available. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  Shall work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The supervising pharmacist must be fully aware of all drug-preparation and drug-dispensing activities. Shall comply with facility and pharmacy policy and procedures. Make sure all new patients, medications, and IVs are entered in the computer and patient profiles are correct in each of the appropriate computer programs. Fills and delivers medication cart(s) to appropriate areas of the facility, with pharmacist approval. Process, fill, and set up all facts of employee/staff prescriptions for pharmacist final check. Process patient drug billings daily. Assist in doing daily ordering. Fills interdepartmental requisitions, including narcotic requisitions for pharmacist final check. Prepares IV fluids for final pharmacist check. Restock IV fluids in appropriate designated areas. Prepares medications in unit-of-use format as deemed necessary by pharmacist. Performs monthly medication outdate inspections throughout hospital. Process SNRC Medicaid/Medicare pharmacy billing as needed. Receipt of pharmaceuticals - verify arriving drugs with invoices - reporting any discrepancy to Pharmacy Director. Sell OTC drugs to employees. Obtain required number of CE hours. Maintain accurate medication profiles by timely entry of new medication orders. Print MAR for SNRC as needed.  MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS  Handles Multiple Priorities.
